ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The Electronics & Communication Engg Dept was established in 2002 with an intake of 60 students in the UG program. The Dept has qualified and experienced faculty. The staff members are deputed to participate in workshops, conferences and refresher courses to keep in pace with the recent development in the field of Electronics & Communication Engg. The Dept has good infrastructural facilities and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories. The Dept library has an extensive collection of books and journals. The department conducts supplementary technical programs, industrial visits, technical exhibitions, seminars and invited talks in current topics. Sabin Joseph (2006 batch) secured 1st rank and Abhilash Namboothiri (2007 batch) secured 3rd rank in Kannur University.
The focus of the B.Tech. degree programme is on 'Communication Engineering with adequate emphasis given to Electronic Design'. ECE department of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College is prestigious with the latest Synopsys tools to cater various specializations and is equipped with facilities for measurement, characterization and synthesis of experimental as well as theoretical results. Smart classrooms equipped with LCD projectors, podiums and book racks bring out an improved quality of learning. Excellent library facilities are available which constantly aid in research and technical growth. The department offers PIC Microcontroller training; industrial visits and trainings are conducted from time to time. For effective student guidance and counseling, an advisory system is introduced. Every 20 students are assisted by a lecturer who handles problems related to student attendance, discipline and other issues . Regular meetings of parents and teachers are conducted to assess academic performance and other issues related to students welfare.
